The Revolution (with a capital R), if it comes at all, is already too late. There has already been too much carnage, too many people killed, too many babies starved, too many young adults maimed, too many immigrants ripped from their families, too many hospitals destroyed, too many children orphaned, too many people radicalised into a future of rageful hate by a genocidal hegemonic Empire. The American fascist deep state, with its Israeli outpost in the Middle East and various bases scattered around the world keeping a watchful beady eye on any national leader who is agitated enough to start an insurrection, has imprinted itself on the psyche of a generation; all the while it has committed (and continues to commit) unspeakable injustices that will require entire lifetimes of litigation in local, national and international courts to reverse. And of course, we have warming of well above 1.5 degrees to look forward to, and the fossil fuel oligarchs to bring to trial as well.
But if the Revolution (with a capital R) is too late, then let us continue the revolution (with a small r). Let us be uncompromising. Let it be wild and ungovernable, shaped not by blueprints but by the burning insistence that this world, this Empire, cannot go on. Let it erupt in the cracks of capitalism and techno-feudalism they thought were sealed. Let it speak in many tongues and genders, refuse their borders and laws, shatter their monuments, and replant the earth with the names of the lost. We owe no allegiance to their timelines, their treaties, their false world. What we build now must be unforgiving to power, unafraid of rupture, and unrelenting in love. If it is too late, then let us at least make it impossible for them to forget that we rose.
